Character: Body slender, with long-nose and vestigial anterior nasal flaps. Eyes large, horizontally, with internal nictitating lower eyelids. Teeth bladelike with oblique cusps and distal cusplets in both jaw. Second dorsal fin somewhat smaller than 1st dorsal fin but larger than anal fin. A relatively short terminal caudal lobe much less than half the dorsal caudal margin. 
Habitat: A little-known, tropical and subtropical shark of the continental shelves found at 40-230 depth near the bottom. Viviparous species, with a yolk-sac placenta; number of young 10-11 per litter. Gestation period estimated to be about 15 month with birth per 
Distribution: Distributed in coastal and inshore of western Indian Ocean and western north Pacific Ocean. 
Utility: A minor fisheries catch off Japan and Taiwan, taken in gillnets, line gear, and bottom trawlers, and utilized for human consumption.
