形態特徵：

體長圓而側扁。頭大。吻長。眼大。D. VI，9；A. II，8；P. 14；Ll. 28；Pred. S. 4-5；GR. 4+1+12；BD. 3.1-3.4；HL. 2.7-2.8 in SL；ED. 2.7-2.9 in head。體色淡白，體側自吻部到尾鰭末端具深色水平縱帶；中央縱帶之上方另有一條顏色亦深，惟寬度較細之縱帶。本種和A. fasciatus極易混淆；其區別在於第一背鰭之硬棘數有別：本種為VI，而後者其硬棘則為VII。Apogon kiensis為同種異名。

棲所生態：

主要棲息於岩礁區，也可發現於砂泥底水域。以多毛類以及其它小型底棲無脊椎動物。

地理分布：

分布於印度-太平洋區，包括日本、中國海東部、菲律賓和南非。臺灣主要分布於南部、西部及澎湖等地。

利用：
