形態特徵：

體長圓而側扁。頭大。吻長。眼大。D. VII-I，9；A. II，8；P. 14。本種魚為常見於日本、臺灣，以往均被誤鑑為金線天竺鯛(A. cyanosoma)。唯本種之發育完全之鰓耙數少於金線天竺鯛(17-21 V.S. 22-23)；體側上縱帶之寬度明顯地比金線天竺鯛寬；以及中央之縱紋在尾柄上之末端仍為縱線。,i>Apogon properuptus為同種異名。

棲所生態：

主要棲息於礁石區。群居性，以多毛類或其它底棲無脊椎動物為食。

地理分布：

分布於印度-太平洋區，分布地點尚未明確，衹知其分布於Belu、印尼、臺灣和日本等地區。臺灣分布於南部、小琉球及北部等。

利用：
