形態特徵：

體卵圓形而側扁；主上頜骨到達眼睛後緣的下端；鋤骨無齒。第一背鰭具VIII棘，兩背鰭間距離短，有部分膜連接；胸鰭長，達臀鰭基底的中央；尾鰭圓形。D. VIII-I，9；A. II，8；P. 18-20；Pred.S. 4；T.r. 2/7；GR. 2+1+5(5)；HL. 2.54；BD. 2.58 in SL；ED. 4.08；SnL. 4.96；IS. 5.84 all in HL。體色淡橘而透明，經保存後變得不透明；眼周圍具數條輻射紋。

棲所生態：

主要棲息於沿岸接近礁區處。以浮游動物或其它底棲無脊椎動物為食。

地理分布：

分布於印度-西太平洋區，西起紅海，東至菲律賓，北至日本，南迄澳洲等。臺灣分布於北部、西部及澎湖等海域。

利用：

無任何經濟價值。
