Character:

Dorsal-fin rays 125-130; anal-fin rays 103-105;. caudal-fin rays 7-8. Body deep, its depth 3.57 to 4.35 times in standard length. Maxilla extending only to point equal with verticals through middle and posterior margin of fixed eye. Corner of mouth nearer to tip of snout than to branchial opening.

Habitat:

Found in the sublittoral zone, semi-enclosed sea areas; on muddy and sandy bottoms. Feeds mainly on benthic invertebrates.

Distribution:

Indo-West Pacific: South China Sea through Taiwan, Shanghai, Tunghai and Pohai to Korea and Japan. Taiwan: Penghu, West.

Utility:

Commercial fishery species.
