Character: Dorsal fin with XIV-XVI spines and 7-9 soft rays; anal fin with III spines and 4-6 soft rays; vertebrae: 26-29. No spines on the lateral surface of the lachrymal nor on the lateral surface of the first suborbital bone. Dorsal fin membranes deeply incised; second and third dorsal spines no elongated relative to succeeding spines. Origin of dorsal fin at or behind level of rear margin of eye. 
Habitat: Inhabit demersal marine environment and continental edges; depth range 77 - 254 m. Maximum size: 6.0 cm TL. 
Distribution: Northwest Pacific: Taiwan and Japan. 
Utility: Not commercial food species.
